The third and final reason is that the author tries to persuade us is with ethos. The author knows we would not believe him unless his logic and appeals to our emotions are very clear and that they are all connected. The author builds their credibility through ethos, saying "that they are asking the father to send some guidance from about for the little children because he cares about them and people should practice what they preach and turn the other cheek." This means that they should care for the children and do not discriminate them even if they are different color races. The author has his audience well convinced because he relates to the connection of all three rhetorical strategies such as logos, ethos and pathos. The author tries to convince us that we do not have love that is why all these things are happening in society and this is not our innate behavior. The author addresses the counter argument with fact and information about terrorism, racism, high gas prices and killing of children. Blacked eyed peas did a great job of persuading their audience of how things are going in our world today by stating mostly facts.
