CSD’s mission is to contribute to enhancing the security and resilience of the nation’s critical information infrastructure and the Internet by (1) developing and delivering new technologies, tools and techniques to enable DHS and the . to defend, mitigate and secure current and future systems, networks and infrastructure against cyberattacks; (2) conduct and support technology transition and (3) lead and coordinate research and development (R&D) among the R&D community which includes department customers, government agencies, the private sector and international partners.
Steve is the Director of Security Research in the Duo Labs group at Duo Security. With two decades of Information Security experience, Steve is a published author who worked on the highly successful Hack Proofing Your Network series as well as O’Reilly’s Security Power Tools, among others. Steve has presented at various security conferences, including Blackhat, DEFCON, PacSec, AusCERT and more. Steve’s experience has focused on penetration testing, vulnerability management, threat modeling, network security and security research. Steve is also well versed and experienced in security program building and compliance issues.
He has more than 20 years of experience in IT in both startup and big company settings, with expertise in digital transformation in highly regulated markets, and knowledge across software, and systems and security. Ghai joined Dell EMC from Symantec, where he held a variety of senior engineering and general management roles. Previously, he was at Computer Associates in a number of senior management roles in the BrightStor and eTrust business units, and led the CA India operations as chief technology officer. Ghai joined CA through the acquisition of Cheyenne Software – a startup in the backup and data protection space.
